Prepare to ask

Take a short list into the conversation.

Bring the questions you want answered, with space to note the reply.

A question to carry

Which unanswered question matters most to my decision?

Put it in my notebook ↘

A learning path. No treatment steps.

Write the concern that brought you here at the top of your list. It can be a plain sentence. Then choose the questions that would help you understand the proposed care.

Name the treatment and its purpose

What is the full name of each medicine being offered, and what is each meant to address?

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) means treatment intended to replace hormones, the body’s chemical messages. If that is what brought you here, give it its own questions.

Which hormone would this treatment replace, why is that being considered, and what problem is it meant to help?

If a peptide medicine is also proposed, what is its separate purpose and what evidence supports it?

What other options would you discuss for this concern, including deciding against this medicine?

Ask for the reason behind it

Which adult study supports the hoped-for change, using this product for this purpose?

What did that research measure, what did it show, and what remains uncertain?

What would count as a reason to review the plan rather than continue it?

Ask. Listen. Write down what remains unclear.

Finishing the reading does not commit you to treatment.

Find the people responsible

Who performs the assessment, who signs any prescription, and which pharmacy handles preparing and sending the medicine?

How can I check their permission to work where I am?

Who answers questions after the visit, and how would an urgent concern be handled?

Put the bill beside the plan

What would I pay now, what renews, and what is left out of the quoted amount?

What written answer do I have from the insurer or account administrator?

Read your account of the reply back to the clinician. Ask for another explanation wherever it still feels unclear. You can leave a question open and take time to think.
